Working with Albany Trust

Albany Trust has been providing specialist counselling and therapy services for over 60 years. We offer opportunities to gain clinical experience within a supportive team environment for our volunteer honorary therapists and for supervisors in training, as well as for experienced psychotherapists and supervisors who are interested in applying a psychodynamic approach to work with LGBT+ clients. We also offer opportunities for experience as a Trustee, which we are currently recruiting for.

Clinical placements at Albany

We provide a safe and supportive setting for trainee therapists and qualified counsellors who are working towards accreditation. We ask for a minimum commitment of two years. This is so that people can gain experience of longer-term cases. We provide clinical supervision. We are interested in candidates who wish to develop their work with LGBT clients and also their psychodynamic /analytic skills. If you are interested please return our Placement Application form here.

Clinical supervision at Albany

We offer clinical supervision in small groups with opportunities to develop supervision skills (through supervision of supervision) e.g. with LGBT+ clients; supervision of one-to-one, couples & group work; and evidence-based brief dynamic interpersonal therapy. Our supervisors also oversee our assessment and placement service. If you are interested either in paid supervision at Albany or in a supervision training placement please email practicemanager@albanytrust.org and we will look to engage in an informal discussion with you.

Becoming an Albany Trustee

We are currently recruiting for Trustees to help develop our fundraising to support our outreach work on relationships and sex education in schools and engaging with faith-based organisations to bring an end to conversion therapy. If you think you can help, please send on your details to practicemanager@albanytrust.org
