There are a number vacancies available within our trust, from volunteer Trustee's to office volunteers.

*Trustee Vacancies

Trustees Description:
We currently have 6 vacancies and are interested in hearing from candidates with a passion for our cause and senior leadership experience in one of the following specific areas:
• Clinical background in counselling and psychotherapy x2
• Financial understanding/ accountant x2
• Legal and governance knowledge preferably within the charity sector x2

Responsibilities of the board of trustees

Trustees are ultimately accountable for the organisation and their governance responsibilities includes:
  • Setting and maintain vision, mission and values
  • Developing strategy together with the chief executive officer
  • Ensuring suitable policies and documents exist
  • Ensuring compliance with the governing document and charitable objects
  • Ensuring compliance with the law
  • Maintaining proper financial oversight
  • Maintaining effective board performance including board appraisals.
  • Promoting the organisation and protecting its reputation

*Student Placements
We offer supervised honorary placements for counselling, psychotherapy and counselling psychology students who are studying or have completed their training and are working towards accreditation and registration. We do this on a yearly basis, from August, to begin placement in September, when applications and any queries will be accepted. Please contact the office for the application form.
Albany's preferred modality is psychodynamic and therefore require students to have a sound knowledge and experience of working Within this approach/ model.

Criteria to be addressed in the covering letter
Candidates must be in their final year (if not yet qualified) of a minimum 3 year course
Candidates must be training in either a psychoanalytic or psychodynamic modality
Candidates must have a student membership with a Psychotherapy/ Counselling governing body

Evidenced understanding of psychodynamic and psychosexual work
Evidenced understanding of the issues people from sexual minorities are facing

Evidence of providing psychodynamic therapy
Evidence of an interest in people from sexual minorities
A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS of personal therapy or equivalent

If successful, candidates will need to attend fortnightly group Supervision. The Supervision group may take place within the day or evening and lasts for approximate 1.5hrs
